Kayaking - Homebush Bay - SS Ayrfield Shipwreck return from Meadowbank Ferry Wharf

I worked at Rhodes for years and didn't even know that their was ship wrecks in Homebush Bay there.

It's funny how you change your perspective to explore and you find amazing things in your own backyard.

Go checkout the ship wrecks in Homebush Bay. From what I understand this bay was used for ship building / ship repairs and the ships were left here as waste from the closure of these companies.

Wow a blast from the past a must paddle and a blast from the past.

Some nice photos can be found here. http://www.alluringworld.com/ss-ayrfield-shipwreck/

Kayaking Chipping Norton Lake and Georges River

Started out at Grand Flaneur Beach on Chipping Norton Lakes and then paddled down to Newbridge Rd and return.

Floyd Bay was interesting I didn't relise that sea planes are in the area and saw one flying overhead I though it was going to land but it kept flying over head. That was cool seeing the sea plane. Heaps of planes flying overhead heading in and out of Bankstown airport.

I found lots of rubbish floating in the water. Car tires, wooden logs and lots and lots of plastic. Not really a place you can go swimming in and the "Shark siting" signs on the shore ensures I stay in my kayak.

The water is a murky green visibility less then 1 meter.

It's a nice river but the pollution in the river makes the river not that pleasant to paddle in.

I've been on the Lake a few time. Its good for a paddle but I wouldn't be going swimming here.

I see lots of fishermen catching fish here but seeing all the rubbish I don't think the fish would be good eating.

Kayaking - Crosslands Reserve, Somerville Road, Hornsby Heights, to Berowra Waters Marina return

What a nice place to paddle. The water was very shallow most of the way so make sure if your going to do this paddle check the tide and make sure you don't get stuck walking back as parts of the river were only a few inches deep.

This was the first time I took my kayak over the cables of the vehicle Ferry of Bays Rd.

Looks like a nice cafe at the Berowra Waters Marina. Didn't get a coffee at the marina maybe next time.

Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes

Date: June 2017

Weather: Clear Skys 21C

Tide: running out
